Club
Dada,
a
venue

enigmatic

its
inception
in
1986,
Club
Dada
has
been
the
pulsating
heartbeat

Birth
of
an
Icon

September
1986
by
visionaries
Tom
Henvey,
Doak
Boettiger,
and
David
Border,
Club
Dada
emerged

a

Deep
Ellum.

warehouse
district
with
limited
nightlife,
the
neighborhood

its
evolution
into
a
vibrant
arts
hub.
The
founders,
members
of
the
avant-garde
performance
troupe
Victor
Dada,

dedicated
space

their
eclectic
performances,
which
encompassed
poetry
readings
and
comedy
sketches.
Their
choice
of
location
was
strategic,
drawn
by
the
building’s
expansive
patio
and
prominent
street-facing
windows
that
invited
passersby
to
engage
with
the
performances.

Club
Dada
offers
both
indoor
and
outdoor
stages,
each
providing
unique
atmospheres
for
live
performances.
The
indoor
stage
measures
20
feet
wide
by
14
feet
deep,
offering
an
intimate
setting
free
of
obstructions.
The
outdoor
stage
boasts
a
30-foot-wide
by
18-foot-deep
deck,
complemented
by
a
modern
truss
system
and
expanded
deck
dimensions
to
accommodate
larger
performances.
With
a
capacity
of
approximately
400,
the
venue
strikes
a
balance
between
exclusivity
and
spaciousness,
ensuring
attendees
can
enjoy
performances
without
feeling
overcrowded.
